Jung Il Woo Holds a Chatting Session with Fans After Awards

Being the humble guy that he is, Jung Il Woo showed his gratitude towards his fans after winning an award at the Huading Awards in China.

On July 6, Jung Il Woo’s company, Management Soop tweeted, “Good news! This is an urgent picture. Actor Jung Il Woo, who has given us good award news all the way from China. He’s even showed his exquisiteness by chatting with fans on Weibo after coming to the hotel from the award ceremony. Here’s a picture of the warm scene.”

In the two photos that were attached, Jung Il Woo is paying close attention to what is happening on his computer and giving a v-sign to the camera.  Continue reading

Jung Il Woo is Asia’s Actor of The Year

Jung Il Woo won the Asia’s Male Actor award at the 2012 Huading Awards on Wednesday.

The annual awards show in Beijing recognizes the Chinese public’s favorite entertainers. Jung became the first non-Chinese entertainer to be nominated and win an award since the awards started seven years ago.

Accepting the award, Jung thanked his Chinese fans in Mandarin and said it was an honor to take home the coveted award.

After the show, Jung also was named Most Popular Entertainer at the show in a poll by the search engine Sina.com.  Continue reading

Jung Il Woo Becomes First Korean Actor To Win at China’s Huading Awards

Jung Il Woo has taken home an award from China.

On July 4, the 7th Huading Awards took place in Beijing at the Olympic Stadium. This year, the awards had enlarged its scope to include in contention not only China’s actors but Asia’s actors as well.

At the ceremony, Jung Il Woo was announced as the recipient of the ‘Asia Male Actor Award’ proving his popularity among fans in China, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong and more. In doing so, he also became the first Korean actor to take home an award at the Huading Awards.

Coming up to the podium to received his award, Jung Il Woo spoke in Mandarin saying, “I’m very honored to have received this prize. I’d also like to thank my fans in China who like me and treat me so kindly. I will work harder in the future to return all your love. Thank you.”

Chinese search engine site Sina.com also simultaneously held an online voting asking the public to vote on the most popular actor among the award ceremony attendees which Jung Il Woo easily topped.

Jung Il Woo is Enjoying the Food in China Before the Huading Awards

On July 3, Jung Il Woo posted a new picture on Weibo (China′s Twitter equivalent) and wrote, “Delicious. Haha. See you tomorrow.”

In the picture, Jung Il Woo wore a sleeveless shirt and flashed a peace sign while a table full of delicious delicacies could be seen laid out before him.

Jung Il Woo receives the Best Asian Actor at Hwajung Awards in China

Actor Jung Il Woo became the first Korean actor to receive the Best Asian Actor at Hwajung Awards in China.

On July 5, Jung’s agency reported Jung received the Best Asian Actor at the 7th Hwajung Awards, which took place at Beijing Olympics Gymnasium on July 4 at 7:00 p.m.

Only Chinese actors have been nominated at the awards until last year. However, the Best Asian Actor was newly created this year and Jung became the first winner of the award. Jung also ranked first in the survey about people’s favorite star among all actors who attended the awards, which was conducted by Sina.com.

After Jung received the award, he held a chatting event with some of his Chinese fans on Weibo.

Jung is also popular in Japan now with his drama series Flower Boy Ramyun Shop, which is airing on TBS in Japan.
